1892 vintage Model 1892 rifle, serial number 9256. 24" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .44-40 caliber. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm with a rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue with case hardened lever and hammer. Standard barrel sights. CONDITION: Excellent with approximately 85-90% original blue on the barrel and magazine tube blending with brown patina and scattered light freckling. A few moderate dings on top barrel flat at the breech. Frame has 75-80% thinning blue mixed with light freckling and a couple areas of moderate corrosion. Strong traces of bright case colors on the hammer and lever. Wood is excellent showing modest wear. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Overall a very attractive first year rifle in a desirable configuration and caliber. -MKS-
