Spencer Model 1860 Army lever action repeating rifle with correct 30 round barrel with 3 barrel bands and military ladder volley type rear sight with blade front. Chambered in .56-56 Spencer with correct 6 groove rifling. Top of receiver is marked: "SPENCER REPEATING-RIFLE CO. BOSTON MASS. PAT'D. MARCH 6 1860." Plain, straight grain walnut stock and forearm complete with sling swivels, rifle butt plate, and tubular magazine extending in to the butt of the rifle. CONDITION: Very good with the metal components worn to a silver patina overall and a darker patina beginning to form on high edges. Metal does exhibit some blotchiness throughout as well as minor handling and storage marks. Stock and forearm are excellent with nearly all of the reapplied finish remaining. Minor crack where forearm meets receiver and at left of receiver near wrist. Through crack at rear end of stock. Minor dents, bruises, and gouges from handling and use. Action works correctly. Bore is frosty with freckling but has good, crisp rifling. -TN-
