Made with "Fine Damascus" steel and so marked on tops of barrels that have matted concave rib with small brass front bead. Barrels with butterfly wings at breech ends and serial number on bottom of tubes. Splinter forend is checkered in point pattern with engraved escutcheon and steel tip. Made with gold plated double triggers, in frame auto ejectors, and auto safety. The beautifully engraved case hardened action, likely engraved by Joseph Loy, features a setter on left, pointer on right, both in oval shaped game scenes on center of locks surrounded by well executed scroll engraved and geometric border pattern. Locks engraved "Lefever Arms Co." at front. Trigger guard with flying goose and scroll on bow, serial number at tang. Top tang with brazed extension at back of tang and there is an extra screw through the trigger guard. The capped pistol grip buttstock with teardrops behind locks is engraved in point pattern with wave behind grip has a small silver oval near the toe and terminates with a Lefever Arms Co. monogrammed buttplate. CONDITION: Very good as partially restored. Barrels retain nearly all of a professionally restored finish with bold Damascus pattern. Stocks are very good as restored with subsequent hunting bumps and minor impressions. Trigger plate screw is an unengraved replacement. Action retains about 20% original case color. Bores with just beginning speckling. Mechanics are fine. JSL
