Manufactured 1913. Tapered half moon front sight, round top U notch rear sight. Checkered hammer. Left side of slide with two line two block patent and address information, right side with "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. NAVY". This example, at serial number 38903, falls into the correct range for U.S. Navy 1911 shipped to the USS New York. Barrel with parallel J proof on left side lug, perpendicular H proof on top of chamber. H and R proofs on top of frame bridle, near disconnector hole. H above firing pin retaining plate. Short grip safety spur, long milled trigger, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Checkered slide release with milled relief, checkered safety, checkered magazine release. Truncated diamond grips. Left side of frame with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on dust cover, and Penfield proof. Little magazine with pinned base. CONDITION: Good as refinished over pitting. Frame and slide with pitting throughout, along other scratches, rubs, and other abrasions. Stocks refinished and dark, with left top screw marred. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is commensurate, with visible rifling and even oxidation. A neat example of a Navy 1911. EW
