World War I Souvenir Photo Album with content including trenches, aerial photos, and battlefield carnage. The photographs have been taken out of the original album and were placed in plastic sleeves that are held in a binder. The first plastic sleeve contains a list of the photographs with a short description of the contents of each photo. The list and photos are numbered 1-68, however the first two photos are missing so the binder album contains 66 black and white photographs. The photographs start at number 3 and measure roughly 6 - 3/4" x 4 - 3/4". There is a wide variety of images that show the horrors of World War I including shell craters, destroyed trenches, and captured German zeppelin L-49. The album also contains several graphic images of dead horses and German soldiers. Some of the more riveting photos are titled "Boche dead bodies killed by a French 75." and " Horse blown into tree by high explosive shell." CONDITION: The original photo album is in fair condition, as the cover has separated from the rest of the book. The blank pages within the album are still held together but have worn with age. The list that contains the photo descriptions is in poor condition, there are several heavy creases, stains and tears but the photo descriptions are still legible. The photographs are in good condition for their age, some show more wear than others and are missing corners or are torn. The photographs are still very clear and still show the graphic details that were captured over 100 years ago. JD

Item Dimensions: Each: 6 - 3/4" x 4 - 3/4".
