Intriduced in 1911 and produced until 1917. The Steven Model 425 lever action with a tilting bolt not unlike the Savage 99 and a solid action much like the Marlin model 1893. (A) Serial number 1766 Cal.32 Remington Soft point with 22 inch round barrel and 1/2 magazine. VArnished 2 piece smooth American walnut stocks with checkered steel crescent butt plate. blue finished with sporting blade front sight and elevator adjustable rear sight. bArrel is marked "STEVEN HIGH POWER 425 NICKEL STEEL". CONDITION. Good with barrel, receiver and magazine retaining 70% of the factory blue finish. Stocks are good with generous amounts of factory varnish and typical bruises and wear at wrist and forearm. ACtion operAtes properly and bore is very fine. (B) Serial number 2333 and chambered for 25 Remington. 22 inch round barrel with 1/2 magazine and varnished 2 piece American walnut straight stocks with checkered steel crescent butt plate. Blue finished with barrel marked "STEVENS HIGH POWER 425 NICKEL STEEL" CONDITION. Fiar with 10% blue finish remaining in protected areas. Stocks are good with evidence of having been lightly sanded and having a small chip at toe and corners are chipped at confluence of action/tangs. Bore is fair with strong rifling and action operates properly. A very limited production of around 1000 guns is quoted from the Brophy book of firearms on page 658. tdw
