Manufactured 1891. Iconic Colt Cavalry Model Single Action inspected by Renaldo A Carr. 7 - 1/2" barrel with single line barrel address and found to have last 4 digits of serial number on bottom beneath ejector rod housing. One piece walnut grips with no trace of inspection remaining. Matching numbers found throughout including cylinder, frame, trigger guard, back strap, and barrel. Produced at the tail end of the Indian Wars period with most examples having been modified to the shorter Artillery models. Surviving examples are rarely found in fine original condition. CONDITION: Good with metal finishes having turned a mellow brown patina. The walnut grips are worn but complete with a small amount of material loss at toe and heel from carry use. The bore is worn but has visible rifling. The action operates properly. The cylinder pin has been modified for easier extraction. Overall a very honest Colt Cavalry model with matching numbers. TDW
