Produced in the very early 1890's. The French Mitrailleuse squeeze/Palm pistol fired an 8mm blackpowder centerfire cartride from an internal 6 round magazine. Finished in bright nickel with a full coverage engraving of geometric designs and a mottled red gutta percha squeeze handle. Marked on the right side plate "MANUFACTURED FANCAISE D'ARMES DE ST ETIENNE" and marked on the barrel rib" MITRAILLEUSE" as well as being marked "DETARCHMENT ET DEMOTAGE". The pistol has a manual safety on left side and is marked safe and fire in French. This prime example is housed in its leather carry case container with a separate compartment in the base for 10 spare cartridges. These unique curiosa pistols are rarely found in such prime condition complete with their cases. Upon disassembly all numbers are found to be matching and the gun appears to have been used very little if at all. CONDITION: Very fine with slight age patinization from storage and case is excellent with supple leather and solid stitching. TDW
