Produced in the later period of the 1860s by French inventor and arms developer Henri Gustave Delvigne. Six shot folding trigger double action revolver with deep floral pattern engraving and mounted with ivory two piece grips. Chambered for the 8mm pinfire cartridges and fitted with a ejector rod. This octagon barreled revolver is marked "DELVIGNE" on the right barrel flat forward of the cylinder and has French proofs on left barrel flat. Revolver is housed in a form fitted leather purse clasp carry pouch. Extremely popular in Europe as well as found imported into the United States at the close of the Civil War period. CONDITION: Very good with crisp clear legends and prominent engraving. Grips are very fine with good coloring. Action operates properly. Exterior has some mottled patina in protected areas. Leather purse pouch is good with several areas or wear and staining. TDW
