Manufactured in the early 1890s. Chambered for 6mm rimfire cartridges. 2 - 7/8" barrel with squeeze cocking and firing mechanism. Fed by an internal five round magazine with a loading assist lever at bottom of frame. Side panels are of either colorized gutta percha or thermoplastic with the "LE MERVEILLEUX" trademark banner and embellished with floral decoration. The side of the pistol frame are further embellished with tight engraved scrolls and a geometric border at base of barrel and ejection port. Originally finished in nickel finish. Housed in a French fitted display case with an empty time of percussion caps and some cleaning components. CONDITION: Good with all mechanics operating properly. The exterior finish has aged and taken on a patina in the less protected areas. The nickel finish is still evident in protected areas. The case is very fine with fine furniture, and excellent lining.
