A superb and beautiful example of German rifle making. This rifle was bespoke built with a 24" barrel with a stippled, banded, and ramp front sight, mid point barrel band with loop for sling, three leaf express sight on an island base with a Rigby styled rear peep sight. Barrel reads "ALFRED SCHILLING" "CAL. .375 H&H". The rifle is built on a lovely case colored with gold wire inlay Mauser action with a three position Winchester Model 70 styled safety, gold wash smooth trigger, and with a reinforcing cross bolt. The bolt slide handle is eight paneled with sharp checkering and beautiful gold line dividing the paneling. Floor plate is color case hardened with gold inlay and engraved with a gold leopard in an African game scene. The trigger guard, bottom tang, and long top strap all have been color case hardened with light floral engraving. The deluxe European walnut stock is built with traditional styled pistol grip with case colored grip cap with sharp checkering, shadow line cheekpiece, loop for sling and soft black rubber butt pad. The forend has matching checkering with an ebony forend tip. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains 99% color with great rifling. Case colors are vibrant through out. Action is smooth. Trigger pull feels crisp. Stock and Forend very good with few and very light handling marks. CP
