Produced in the late 1840's through 1860s. .36 caliber percussion double barreled knife pistol with folding triggers and 4" dirk pattern folding blade. elaborately engraved nickel silver scales with clamshell and scroll motifs. Highly figured Damascus steel scenes on barrels with Belgian proofs found at breeches. Knife pistol is without maker's signature or markings. It is displayed in a very ornate ebony case with partitions for knife lined in red stippled leather. Front has folding door to reveal two additional storage compartments. CONDITION: Very fine with blade being polished and reground professionally at a prior time frame. The engraving and nickel silver scales are very fine. The bores of the barrels are very good and the action operates properly. The display box is good with several small inlays having been lost earlier but is solid and well preserved. TDW
