Octagonal barrel with machine matte rib and protected post from sight on matte ramp, dovetailed in horizontally. Mid barrel adjustable notch rear sight. Proofed under the forearm for manufacture in February of 1928, BUG proofs, JGA in oval (appropriate for 1928). Proofed on left side of flats with Austrian proof and German nitro proof. JGA manufacturers mark on left side of action, double stamped, right side with BUN proofs. Removable trigger unit with "24" marked on internal tang and locking swivel. "24" marked on front of orthoptic rear sight, mounted to tang. Martini action with case coloring on action, tangs, and finger lever. Classic Schutzen carved cheekpiece, spliced in thumb rest and massive buttplate with stabilizing prong. CONDITION: Fine, with a few minor marks from handling and operation, still retaining the vast majority of its finish. Case coloring largely faded on bottom of action, particular at points of contact. Wood is very good, grip checkering with some areas of abrasion. Wood proud to buttplate. Action works appropriately when operated by hand, bore is excellent, bright and shiny with sharp lands and grooves. An excellent example of a rifle built by a noted craftsman. EW
