Cabinet card of Eddie Burgess by Houseworth's Souvenir Photographs. 4-1/2" x 6-1/2". Eddie (Henry E.) and his older brother Charles were sons of William Burgess, a former educator, who was appointed in 1872 by President Ulysses S. Grant as Indian Agent to the Pawnee nation in Nebraska. After trying various pursuits, Eddie and Charles joined Bill Cody and performed in the Buffalo Bill Combination. Eddie continued as a rodeo performer, rancher an actor through out the rest of his life. CONDITION: Good. Corners are slightly rounded. There are two small stains on the front. On the reverse is a pencil notation "Eddie Burgess Buffalo Bill Comb 1885". CG
