(A) Early 19th Century saber measuring 37" overall with a 31" flat sided blade etched with an American eagle, panoply of arms and foliate decoration with "Warranted" at the ricasso. The reverse with similar designs but with American shield, flag and Liberty Cap in place of the eagle. Grooved ebony wood grip with twisted wire wrap intact, missing its pommel / crossguard chain. Steel scabbard with double ring mounts. CONDITION: Blade a mix of bright / grey surface with areas of minor dark staining. Scabbard is mostly smooth and grey with small areas of surface rust. (B) Broad sword / cutlass measuring 29" overall with a 23-1/2" straight blade engraved in the spine "Lt Joseph Senter". Iron basket hilt, leather grip. CONDITION: Blade is mostly grey with dark patches, retains about 60% of its leather grip. DG
