(A) Model 1850 Foot Officer's Sword, 36-3/4" overall with a 31-1/4" blade etched for 2/3 of its length with typical patriotic motifs, "US" and a spread wing eagle. Etched at the ricasso "WM Horstmann & Son Philadelphia". Rayskin grip with wire wrap. CONDITION: Grey blade exhibits worn etching with areas of dark staining. Grip wrap is in very good condition with moderate wear on one side, brass guard displays an even patina. (B) Model 1840 NCO sword marked at the ricasso "C. Roby W. Chelmsford Mass" and "U.S. 1863 F.S.S." on the reverse. CONDITION: Blade is mostly bright with areas of minor dark staining. (C) Eagle pommel sword 34" overall with a 29-1/4" straight blade with blued and gilted etched panels. Brass guard with American eagle on the langet and fluted bone grips. Brass scabbard displays foliate and patriotic engraved decorations on one side. CONDITION: Blade is mostly bright with vivid blue, toned gilt etching and a few minor edge nicks, brass guard is misshapen and a bit loose. Scabbard displays a dark even patina and some scattered small dents. (D) Model 1860 Staff & Field officer's sword, with straight undecorated diamond shaped blade. Ray skin grip with twisted wire wrap, nickle plated scabbard with brass mounts. CONDITION: Blade is dark, broken tip, exhibits some discoloring on the scabbard nickle plating. (E) Imported variation Model 1850 Foot Officer's sword marked on the ricasso "Horstmann & Sons" the reverse "Philadelphia", 29" undecorated curved blade, leather grip with twisted wire wrap. Single branch guard decorated with acanthus leaves. Leather scabbard with brass mounts. CONDITION: Blade mostly grey with minor staining, grip shows minor wear, scabbard leather seam is split and drag exhibits denting. (F) Model 1850 Foot Officers Sword. CONDITION: Iron guard broken, grip wrap heavily worn, dark blade exhibits numerous edge nicks. Leather scabbard with split seams and dented mounts. (G) Commemorative Napoleon I sword issued by the Franklin Mint. Gilt brass handle with blued and gilted straight blade. CONDITION: Blade shows wear to its blued finish. DG
