Third Reich Land Customs officer visor cap made in a high quality Feldgrau wool with a half dozen tiny moth nips. A dark green wool center band, and the dark green piping exhibits no damage. The Land Customs hand applied bullion wreath/ cockade and aluminum eagle are undamaged. Silver and green bullion chin cord is also undamaged. The black vulkanfibre visor and tan crosshatch pattern underside have very light wear. The interior is fully lined in a tan rayon with no visible damage and moderate staining. The celluoid sweatshield is present with a one inch piece missing on top. The tan leather sweatband has the front 35% missing with another five inch piece of a different sweatband added with a nice stitching. While odd, it does appear to have been period done. Written on the left side of the sweatband is "C. Smith, Sept 14, 1944, Germany". CONDITION: very good to excellent. WZ
