Circa 1994. This desirable and somewhat scarce rifle has been built with a 26" barrel that bears a raised front blade sight with a built in moon sight, spearpoint island rear sight with one standing sight at 100 yards and two folding sights at 200 and 300 yards. All of the rear sights are stippled. Barrel is also fitted with mid-barrel band with loop for sling. Barrel reads "WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO. LTD ENGLAND". Barrel also has appropriate Birmingham proof marks and caliber ".425 mag." on its left rear side near action. Left side of receiver bears the makers name and rifle serial number. The Mauser action is smooth and built with a three position wing safety. The rifle has also been fitted with an extended magazine. The straight grained European walnut stock has been built with a finely checkered pistol grip, horn grip cap, eye for sling loop, shadow line cheekpiece, shield for initials and orange rubber pad. Forend has matching checkering and nicely fitted with a horn forend tip. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains nearly all of its original blue at 98%. Rifling is sharp. Front sight is missing its hood. Stock and forend show some use with some handling marks. Great rifle for a big game safari.
