Group consists of: (A) Model 1852 navy officer's dress sword engraved on the throat "To Lieut Frank K. O'Brien from C.W. Crocker 1918". Leather scabbard with embossed oakleaf pattern mounts. Blade is etched with patriotic and naval motifs, sharkskin grips with wire wrap. Scabbard missing its drag and lower 5" of leather. (B) Full dress tailed jacket and trousers. Jacket inked in pocket label "Lt Cmdr F.K O'Brien 1/18/26", trouser display a 1-1/2" gilt tape running down the outer seam. (C) Pair of full dress gold epaulettes displaying Lt Commander rank and housed it their original pasteboard box. (D) Dress navy officers sword belt with gold wire / cloth facings with leather backing and two-piece interlocking navy buckle. (E) Navy dress fore-and-aft hat with silk lining and black leather sweatband. CONDITION: As noted, the sword scabbard is missing its lower portion, the blade exhibits small areas of dark staining on the lower areas and grips show areas of wear. Jacket, trousers and epaulettes are in excellent condition showing little wear. Fore-and-aft hat displays areas of wear to the fur surface. Belt with moderate wear to the leather backing. DG
