Post-WWI German "Freikorps" visor cap in a Feldgrau wool with moderate moth damage consisting of small holes, tracking, and some repaired areas throughout. Four field gray painted vent rivets are present. Olive green wool center band and crown piping have moderate moth damage as well. Imperial German and Hanseatic cockades are attached, and well as the skull and cross bones. Black leather visor has moderate heat damage, and the black leather chin cord with black painted steel fittings is excellent. Brown cotton twill lining has light staining throughout, and is marked "Stirndruckfreie Qualitats Mutze" with an undamaged celluloid sweatshield. Brown leather sweatband is crack through in two areas and has a paper tag with size "59" pinned to it. Consignor provided some photos which show these types of caps, but not this one specifically.
