The blade of this M36 Chained SS Dagger is maker marked for the company of "Böker". The blade has areas of pitting from rust removal, which is most likely the reason the original factory cross graining has dulled and the original dark burnishing inside the "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" motto is no longer present. The solid nickel silver upper and lower cross guard's appear to have been polished at one time. The Roman numeral "I" is stamped on the reverse of the lower cross guard indicating the city "Berlin". The black ebony grip is inlaid with a nickel silver eagle and a "thin font" SS roundel. It is not known whether the pommel nut has been turned due to no patina being present. The fittings of the scabbard also have been polished at one time, which has removed the dark burnishing for the center chain band. The screws of the fittings have slight knurls indicating they may have been turned at one point. The lower drag fitting has a small crack near the solder seem and the lower ball has the typically seen dent. The black paint on the scabbard shows only superficial scratches and one small dent on the lower half of the obverse side. The chain of the scabbard has also been polished at one time which has removed the factory burnishing in the links. The reverse of the chain shows a hand stamped SS rune. CONDITION: Overall Very Good to Excellent D.W.
