An exceptional Third Reich Diplomat Officer's Dagger. The steel blade exhibits excellent cross graining along it's entire length. The blade is nicely marked with the vertical Alcoso maker mark. The nickel plated cross guard exhibits nice burnishing throughout the recesses. No lifting of the nickel plating can be observed. The eagle pommel and grip strap are also nickel plated with excellent burnishing in the recesses. The pommel's tamper-proof nut appears to be in undisturbed condition. The two mother-of-pearl grip plates show little patina build up with only a few scattered blemishes, but no major damage or cracks. A Heer style portepee appears originally attached to the grip. The plated steel scabbard has nice burnishing in the recesses and shows no damage. The hand enhanced hanger rings are nicely executed retaining much of their original factory burnishing. CONDITION: Overall Near Mint. D.W.
