(A) The steel blade of the Heer Dagger is maker marked for the firm of "Carl Eickhorn". The blade exhibits factory cross graining along the length of the blade with only very light runner marks. The nickel plated brass cross guard and pommel cap retain much of it's factory burnishing. An original Heer portepee is attached to the daggers grip. The nickel plated steel scabbard has some of the factory burnishing in the recesses of the stippled areas, and a few scattered light marks throughout. A set of original Heer hangers are attached to the scabbard. The fittings of the hangers are zinc, and have lost most of their silver wash. CONDITION: Overall Excellent to Near Mint. (B) The steel blade of the Second Model Luftwaffe Dagger is unmarked and exhibits factory cross graining along the length of the blade. A few areas of freckling can be seen on the blades reverse side. The aluminum cross guard and pommel cap show a nice patina build up in the recesses, and a few areas of scattered light marks. The aluminum cord wrapped trylon grip has a few scattered light marks, and a small cap near the pommel cap. An original Luftwaffe style portepee is attached to the grip. The nickel plated steel scabbard has an even patina throughout with heavy freckling. An original set of Luftwaffe hangers is attached to the scabbard. CONDITION: Overall Excellent. D.W.
