Heer Infantry officer tunic in the rank of Hauptmann made from a very high quality Feldgrau wool, with no visible damage other than approximately 15 tiny moth nips and spots of tracking, mainly on the front lower half. A bullion officer eagle is tailor hand applied on the right breast, and infantry officer bullion collar tabs are machine sewn to the dark green wool collar. A well-marked white collar liner is attached with light staining. The infantry officer shoulder boards with two gilt rank pips, and gilt ciphers to the 13th Infantry Regiment, are era sewn into the shoulders. Five buttons secure the tunic and all appear to have been era applied, with very little of their Feldgrau finish remaining. Four of the same buttons secure the pocket flaps with most of their Feldgrau finish remaining. Smaller buttons secure the shoulder boards and retain all of their finish. A War Merit Cross ribbon is hand sewn to the tunic, but is not era applied. Two sets of era applied award loops are present on the left breast pocket, and an Infantry Assault badge with a broken off catch is present. There is also a set of three era sewn loops above the left breast pocket for a ribbon bar. The tunic is completely lined with a medium green lining with only light aging. No tailor or name tag is present. Dagger hanging clip is present. The consignor provided a folder of paperwork, but other than one photo of a Heer Infantry officer, none of the paperwork relates to this tunic. The photo is of a similar tunic in an earlier rank and with an EKII ribbon in the buttonhole. Based on the location of several features, such as the collar tabs, it is unlikely it is this tunic.
