Lot consists of: (A) Manufactured 1848. H. Aston Model 1842 single shot pistol with 8-1/2" barrel, one piece walnut stock and brass furniture. Lock is marked "H. ASTON" and dated 1848. Barrel is lightly dated 1849. Two US inspectors cartouches are visible on left side of stock. CONDITION: Good with legible markings. Stock is full sized but lightly sanded from refinish. Barrel and lock are slightly pitted and have been cleaned. Brass has a mellow period patina Lock operates properly and bore is dark. (B) Model 1836 Johnson conversion Martial pistol. Converted from flintlock to percussion with markings and dates reapplied in 1840. 8-1/2" barrel with stirrup retained rammer. One piece walnut stock with iron furniture. Stock has traces of US inspectors cartouche on left side of stock. Numerous small inspectors markings found on small components and barrel is not dated. CONDITION: Good as found with an even dark brown patina. Bore is dark and lock operates properly. Nipples broken off as has been this way for many years. TDW
