Classic 1842 pistol configuration with brass furniture. Barrel with offset proofs consisting of "P" / "V" / "(Palmetto Tree)". Blade front sight, captured swivel ramrod. Lock stamped in center with Palmetto Armory mark with spiral tree, with lowest frond on right side making contact with trunk. Tail of lock well marked "COLUMBIA / S.C. 1852". Left side of barrel at breech stamped "Wm.GLAZE&CO." CONDITION: Good. Metal has been cleaned over extensive freckling, with a few deeper areas of inactive oxidation. Markings are still easily legible. Brass with numerous little indentations, primarily at buttcap, and has acquired an deep mustard patina. Wood is very good with handling marks and bumps and bruises throughout, and appears to have been gently cleaned at one point. Three cracks at left side, near sideplate. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with even oxidation throughout. A presentable example. EW
