Single steel bead on machine matted rib with J.P. Sauer and Krupp Laufstahl steel designation rollmarks, soldered on sling loop on bottom barrel. Underside of barrels with appropriate German proofs for 16 bore. Classic two piece Sauer forend with Deely release, interior of iron with last three of serial number and "F.A/OR" in wood. Boxlock receiver with serial number, German nitro proof, and Sauer double S on lips. Receiver engraved with florals and with scalloped back, crossbolt. Pistol grip checkered with point pattern checkering, engraving grip cap. Shadowline cheekpiece, sling loop at toe. Horn buttcap. Extra barrel set has been opened up to 2 - 3/4" chambers and 1/4" longer. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain much of their bluing, mixing with brown in a few places, mostly at high edges and toward muzzles. Receiver essentially dove grey with some age spotting throughout, engraving is still crisp, there are a few flashes of case color in protected areas. Wood has had an extra layer of varnish added. Sling loop moved closer to toe and previous location has been filled, buttplate with replaced section on right sight. One crack runs through new sling loop point and needs attention. One pair of significant dings on left side near action. Forearm wood possibly replaced as checkering does not extend onto upper portion. Other normal handling marks. Action works appropriately when operated by hand, bores are very good, over barrel of set (A) with some minor oxidation approximately halfway down barrel. Under ejector of set (A) does not fire, (B) is out of time. EW
