Lot consists of: (A) Springfield Model 1861 percussion rifled musket with flip rear sight and fixed front. Percussion lock marked 1861 and "U.S. Springfield". Walnut wood stock with initials "JWN 4TH KY" scratched in the side and "62" on the other. 1 soldier listed on the 4th Kentucky roster matches these initials, a James W. Nelson. Interesting rifle with more research needed. CONDITION: Overall good with metal showing original in the white finish. Wood has aged with a cracked wrist. Visible rifling with good mechanics. (B) 1842 Pattern rifled musket with percussion lock dated 1854 and marked "Harper's Ferry" and "US" with Eagle. Walnut stock with iron hardware. Fixed front sight and iron ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with aged look and patina. Visible rifling and good mechanics. DLM
