Lot consists of: (A) Eli Whitney marked "Mississippi Rifle" dated 1855. Whitney marked lock with New Haven stamp. Rifled barrel with flip adjustable rear sight and fixed front sight. Walnut stock with brass hardware. Saber bayonet attachment, steel ramrod with brass tip and post period leather sling. CONDITION: Overall aged patina with brass parts cleaned long ago and fading to a golden color. Metal turning a silvery patina. Wood has been cleaned and oiled with light dings and handling marks. Shootable bore and good mechanics. (B) 1842 Pattern smoothbore percussion musket made at Harper's Ferry in 1851 with lock dated and marked as such. Walnut stock with iron hardware and original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Honest original looking gun with wear expected with age. Good mechanics with dark bore. DLM
