Lester was a California artist who worked in oil and watercolor. Born in 1917 in New York City, he studied at the Cooper Union School of Design. In the late 1930's he moved to Los Angeles, California and worked with Walt Disney and became known for being one of the contributors to the "California Style" movement. He has held twenty-six one-man exhibitions in museums and art galleries throughout the U.S.A., including the Oakland Museum, Boston Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles Museum, M. H. De Young Museum in San Francisco and Knoedler Galleries in New York. CONDITION: Canvas loose. Several holes; in unrestored condition.
