Manufactured during the last year of the Great War by DWM. The receiver is marked with "1918" over the chamber with DWM proofs and the German Reichsadler on the right side. Toggle bears the DWM monogram. Front grip strap exhibits a police unit marking of "G.R.128". Matching numbers include the frame, receiver, barrel, locking bolt, trigger sideplate, trigger, and safety bar. The toggle was at one point replaced, baring a commercial "Crown over N" nitro proof, and having the rear toggle links serial number ground off. Grips are unnumbered and magazine is of a later period. Receiver is slightly proud to frame, indicating that the frame was renumbered at some point. Locking bolt, trigger, and safety catch are in the white. Metal components have been refinished in both polished and matte blue finishes. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finishes, with areas of wear showing through to silvering. Proof marks and other stamps are soft, but discernible. Bore is dark and frosted and retains fair rifling throughout. Checkered walnut grips exhibit smoothing to the checkering and show few indentations. MLW
