Custom built Japanese Type 38 bolt action rifle with hard case and ammunition. Rifle started life as a Type 38 built at Nagoya Arsenal. Round steel barrel has been cut down to 24". Metal has been reblued to a gloss blued finish. Bolt was bent and chromed. Custom aftermarket hardwood stock with checkering on the forearm and grip. Rubber butt pad, with added sling swivels. An unmarked scope base and rings are attached to the rifle. Includes an unmarked hard case, 5 stripper clips and 204 rounds of 6.5 Japanese ammunition. Ammunition breaks down as follows: 65 rounds of Chinese 6.5 FMJ (five of which are loaded on a stripper clip), 99 rounds of Norma 158 Grain soft point 6.5 Japanese in factory boxes, and 40 rounds of mixed military/Norma 6.5 Japanese. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its finish with mild handling marks and scratches. Stock is excellent. Bore is lightly frosted, with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. Ammo looks to have been stored well. Case is very good with light wear. JWA
