Manufactured in June of 1964 by Walther. Interarms import stamp is present on the left side of the aluminum frame. Matching numbers include the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Locking block serial number is electro-penciled. Metal components and magazines are blued. Left side of receiver is marked with the Walther banner followed by "Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do./ P1 Cal. 9mm". The right side is marked with two inspection stamps and "6/64", indicating date of manufacture. "BMI" (Federal Ministry of the Interior) stamp on the right side of the frame has been crossed out. Walther inspection stamps present on frame, slide and barrel. Magazine and spare magazine are stamped with the Walther banner over "P1 9mm" on the left hand side with "7/64" on the spines, indicating manufacture in July of 1964. Frame and slide are not reinforced. Reinforced hammer is present. Trigger is cast. U notch rear sight marked "L" with narrow front sight without dot. Lining barrel is of the earlier variation and is pinned in place. Black checkered grips are comprised of plastic. Complete with first model black leather holster marked "CRIESE/ BERLIN/ 1961/ 9". CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting high edge wear showing through to silvering, with some wear and thinning on the top of the slide. Bore is bright with well defined rifling throughout, and appears to have some dried cosmoline between the lands and grooves. Black plastic checkered grips show some handling marks and a small crack on the left grip panel. Leather holster shows some wear and handling marks, as well as what appears to be remnants of white paint. A nice example of a 1960s manufactured Walther P1 pistol. MLW
