Lot consists of: A) Springfield Trapdoor rifled musket Model 1884. Blued round rifled barrel with blade front sight and Buffington rear adjustable sight. Case hardened breechblock marked "U.S. Model 1884". Blued lock marked "U.S. Springfield". Walnut wood stock with "SWP 1891" proof and racking numbers. Rod bayonet. CONDITION: A) Blue fading to brown with light freckling. Case colors fading to plum. Wood has traces of finish with heavy usage marks. Visible proofs and racking numbers. Good bore and mechanics. B) Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine made in 1883. Blued Carbine style barrel with pinned blade front sight and "C" marked rear adjustable sight. Case hardened breechblock and lock. Block marked "US Model 1873" and lock marked "US Springfield". Walnut wood carbine style stock with no compartment in buttplate and barrel band with stacking swivel and slide bar with saddle ring. CONDITION: B) Blue fading to plum with visible correct cartouches at breech. 60% case colors with balance fading to plum. Stock has oil soaked appearance with no visible cartouches. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
