Bead front sight on raised solid matte rib. Rear sight with 3 folding leaves for 100, 200, and 300 yards, one standing sight for 50 yards. Damascus barrels are signed "H. Snowie" and "Inverness". Sling eye soldered to underside of rib with contemporary sling ring. "HJ" on forearm lump. Barrel flats with London proofs for 10 bore. Extractors. Dovetail lump barrels. Wedge fastened forearm with point pattern checkering with vacant diamonds around wedge escutcheons and half diamond near iron. Metal forearm tip with well executed tight scroll and central oval with lined borders. Exterior of iron engraved with tight scroll. Sidelock hammer action with fishform hammers, English push on safeties, and signed "H. SNOWIE". Sideplate engraved in well executed scroll with lined borders. Hammers engraved en suite. Balance of action also engraved with well executed tight scroll. Underlever rotary opener engraved en suite with checkered knob. Trigger guard with flared checkered tip. Classic teardrops behind actions. English straight grip checkered in point pattern. Sling eye along belly with contemporary push button sling. Spliced in repair along right sight on comb and at heel surrounding buttplate tip. Pancake cheekpiece. Buttplate with tight scrolls en suite around screws. Leather sling CONDITION: Barrels retain an old bluing that has heavily obscured much Damascus by mixing with patina. Forearm with numerous bumps and bruises as well as some abrasions in checkering and some deep pings. Action retains much of a high polish English blue finish mixing with old oxidation in a few areas. Trigger guard and rotary lever were case colored which has all but faded with flashes in the most protected places. Stock is very good with spliced repairs as noted above.with numerous bumps and bruises from handling and use, and an extra layer of varnish applied at one point. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are excellent with strong rifling. EW
