50mm centerfire rifled cannon as made for the country of Siam by the famous German Krupp firm and is so marked on the breech with Siamese Government proofs and “FRIED. KRUPP. A.G./ESSEN”. Brass and steel rear sight with steel front post sight present. Balance bubble in rear sight present but non-functional. Prolong handle included with this lot. Although these guns were manufactured from 1902 to 1906, this model has been removed from the provisions of the National Firearms Act and will transfer like a Curio & Relic rifle. Retaining pin for extendable trail not present. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is extremely fine, over 90% deep lustrous blue with some scattered light pitting on tube. Prolong handle is unrestored with scattered brown patina. Original wooden wheels extremely fine with rich wood tone and steel tires have light pitting under black enamel paint finish. Axle and steel carriage have nearly of a light green repainted finish with elevation adjustment wheel painted red, without leather covering. Elevation mechanism operates properly. Telescoping tongue of carriage also serviceable. Bore is extremely fine and clean. A very attractive piece which is a very popular collector’s items and one of the most popular of all small cannon on the range. JWK 2020-11-61
