Lot consists of a British Webley & Scott MK III* and No. 3 MK 1 flare pistols. (A) WWI era MK III* manufactured by Webley and Scott during 1918. Receiver and barrel are comprised of brass and are fitted two piece wood grip panels. Breech release catch lever and lanyard ring are comprised of iron. Right side of the receiver is marked with the Webley & Scott wing bullet logo followed by the serial number. Left side is marked "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD/ LONDON & BIRMINGHAM" above "'18", the model designation, and British proofs. British proofs are present on the barrel. Matching numbers include the receiver, breech release catch lever, extractor, and wood grips. CONDITION: Brass components show some handling marks, retaining a mustard patina, and showing some small areas of verdigris. Flanged muzzle shows some denting. Iron components retaining traces of their arsenal applied blue finish. Bore shows areas of verdigris and some light corrosion. (B) No. 3 MK I flare pistol manufactured presumably by Webley & Scott, and built on the frame of a Webley & Scott MK IV revolver. Left side of barrel is marked "No. 3 MK ". British proofs found on receiver and barrel. Two piece grips are comprised of bakelite. Matching numbers include the frame and barrel. CONDITION: Metal components show corrosion and retain traces of their arsenal applied finish, showing patina all around. Bore is bright, showing a few small areas of corrosion. Bakelite grips show some scattered handling marks. MLW
