1887 vintage Model 1885 Winchester Hi-Wall rifle, serial number 17315. 28" octagon barrel chambered in desirable .38-55 cartridge. Plain nice grain walnut stock and forearm. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue with case hardened frame, lever, and hammer. CONDITION: Fine overall. Barrel is mostly a pleasing blue/brown patina. Traces of case colors in protected areas, Frame overall is brown patina with case color turning to "nickel freckling". Wood is excellent showing moderate wear. Bore has good rifling, turning dark with abrasions. Action is tight and crisp. -MKS-
