Browned damascus barrels with bead front sight dovetailed horizontally into the smooth rib, with notch rear sight with three express leaves with gold line, set for 100, 150, and 200 yards. Rib signed "George H. Daws Patent Central Fire 57 ThreedNeedle St London, No 476". Underside of barrels with appropriate British proofs, "S" "13" and "George H. Daws Patent". Diminutive splinter forearm with horn tip, point pattern checkering, and engraved iron with scroll. Round body frame with back action locks engraved extensively with scroll and signed "G.H. Daw". Dolphin form hammers with scroll en suite, angled strikers. Underlever and wrist tang engraved in scrollwork done by a different hand. Checkered pistol grip stock with engraved buttcap. Shadowline cheeckpiece. Skeleton buttplate. Sling eye and vacant silver escutcheon at toe. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels retaining much of a rebrown over a few very minor marks and some old inactive oxidation. Frame and locks have been cleaned to a smooth dove grey over some old oxidation. Wood has been sanded and refinished, with some chips missing along forearm which also has a cylindrical repair near iron and towards tip, and tight crack on left side. Stock has numerous bumps, bruises, and one rather noticeable area of rubbing on right side. Some cracking and lifting of varnish. Action works appropriately when operated by hand, bores are excellent with strong rifling. EW
