Lot consists of: (A) Civil War era Spencer Model 1860 lever action carbine serial number 57823 manufactured by Spencer Repeating Co. Boston, Massachusetts. 22" round barrel chambered in .56-56 Spencer with military ladder rear sight and blade front. 2-piece, plain walnut stock with saddle ring and carbine buttplate. CONDITION: Fair to good with the finish fading to a mottled brown patina overall. Heavy wear throughout, especially at barrel at barrel band. Stock and forearm are fair with heavy wear and multiple repaired cracks, especially at stock near buttplate. Chip at right of forearm near front. Action appears to operate correctly. Bore is dark with heavy abrasion. (B) Burnside single shot carbine serial number 13945 manufactured by Burnside Rifle Co. Providence, Rhode Island. 21" .54 caliber round barrel with blade front sight and "adjustable leaf" rear. 2-piece plain walnut stock with saddle ring complete with period cavalry carbine swivel snap and rifle buttplate. CONDITION: Relic to fair overall with metal parts faded to a mottled brown patina with heavy wear. Stocks are in relic condition, with numerous cracks and heavy wear. Action appears to work correctly. Bore is dark with heavy abrasion. -TN-
