Sharp's rifle serial number "C 52516" probably started life as a percussion rifle and was converted to cartridge with other parts possibly by Meacham or Moore or others in the 1880's. Rifle has a full octagonal 30" barrel with blade front sight and flip rear graduated sight measuring "1 -1/4 inches" across barrel muzzle from flat to flat. Barrel is marked "OLD RELIABLE" and "Sharp's Rifle Co. Bridgeport, Conn." with serial number "162159" under forearm. Unmarked action with single trigger. Walnut plain buttstock and two screw forearm. CONDITION: Barrel has pit marks with the addition of some bluing. Forearm is a replacement and action has been cleaned. Buttstock has been cleaned with some light handling marks. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
