Colt's first double action. Manufactured in 1888. According to the Colt letter it was shipped to "COLT'S PATENT FIRE-ARMS MANUFACTURING CO. / JANUARY 10, 1888" and it has the following features: etched panel, five inch barrel, half moon front sight, fluted 6 shot cylinder, and 2 piece hard rubber grips with the Colt logo. CONDITION; Gun works in both single and double action. Barrel, ejector housing, grip strap and trigger guard retain approximately 25% of the original blue finish. The cylinder has turned to a pleasing brown patina. The frame has traces of case color in the protected areas. Good bore with some light freckling. Grips show normal wear. REW
