M.11 Luger manufactured by DWM under contract for the Netherlands and delivered in 1928. The left side of the receiver is stamped with a vertical crown over "N" commercial nitro proof, with the right side bearing a "KLO" stamp. The chamber bears a 5-pointed star, indicating capture by the Tentara Nasional Indonesia (Indonesian National Army). "(Crown) / N" nitro proof is also present on the bottom of the barrel as well as the left side of the breechblock. Bottom of frame bears a Simpson LTD import stamp just forward of the trigger guard. Brass plaque on left side of frame is blank. Major metal components are rust blued, with some smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. All numbers are matching, including the grips which bear the full 5-digit serial number. Blued magazine is unmarked and retains a plain wood bottom. PROVENANCE: Lot 1467, James D. Julia 2016 Firearms Auction. Former Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection, Germany. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their Dutch arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning showing through to brown patina as well as pitting in some areas. Front grip strap exhibits some light dings and indentations. Strawed components have been reheated and retain the majority of their finish. Bore is bright, exhibiting areas of oxidation and retaining fair rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some smoothing to the checkering as well as a few nicks to the diamonds, with the right grip panel bearing several cracks that are mostly visible on the interior. A rare example of an Indonesian captured Dutch "KLO" marked M.11 Luger. MLW
