Standard configuration P.08 manufactured semi-covertly by DWM between 1928-1929. The left side of the receiver, bottom of the barrel, as well as the left side of the breechblock bear commercial vertical crown over "N" proofs, with the chamber being blank and the toggle bearing the "DWM" monogram. Rear grip strap bears a Reichmarine "M" over anchor stamp above "N.606." indicating issue to the Nordsee station in Wilhemshaven. Matching numbers are present on the frame, locking bolt, sideplate, trigger, barrel, receiver axle, and rear toggle link, with remaining components being unnumbered. Magazine does not match and is marked "N3554X" above an eagle over "83" waffenamt on the base. CONDITION: Metal components retain good amounts of their period arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning all around that show through to pleasant brown and grey patinas, as well as exhibiting a couple concentrated areas of light to moderate oxidation. Strawed components have been touched up, retaining the majority of their reapplied finish, with the exception of the ejector which is in-the-white. Bore is bright, exhibiting moderate oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips are poorly fit, showing smoothing, some scattered impressions, as well as some nicks to the diamonds. A nice example of rare and desirable Reichsmarine marked P.08 Luger. MLW
