Colt M1911A1 U.S. Army semi automatic pistol. Made 1943. Right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 U.S. ARMY", with a faint ordnance stamp behind the right grip panel. Left side of the frame is marked with a "G.H.D." inspectors stamp. Left side of the slide is marked with the typical Colt patent dates. Barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on top of the chamber area. Military blade front sight and u-notch rear. Frame and slide with their original parkerized finish. Fiber Keyes marked grips. Type 4 Colt hammer. Two tone magazine is marked "COLT/.45 AUTO". CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with some areas of light patina. Grips are near excellent with light wear. Clean bore with crisp rifling left. Mechanical excellent. Magazine is very good with light wear. JWA
