Colt 1927 Argentine contract 1911A1 semi automatic pistol. Made circa 1927 on contract by Colt for Argentina. Nice Argentine crest on the right side of the slide followed by "EJERCITO ARGENTINO/COLT CAL .45 MOD. 1927". Barrel, slide, and internal frame serials match. Left side of the slide is marked with the typical Colt patent dates followed by the rampant Colt pony. Blade front sight with standard u-notch rear. Metal parts look to have been refinished at some point, possibly an arsenal refinish. Grips are aftermarket wood with checkering. Magazine is unmarked with a blued finish. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its finish with some areas of wear and handling marks. Grips are excellent with minor handling marks. Bore is lightly frosted with fair rifling left. Mechanically inoperable, looks to be missing the mainspring. Magazine is very good with light wear. JWA
