This Model 1920 Commercial is one of thousands that were reworked after the Great War for commercial sales in order to comply with the Treaty of Versailles. Chamber area on receiver is blank, with the toggle bearing the "DWM" monogram. Commercial crown over "N" proof is present on the receiver, barrel, and breechblock. Majors metal components exhibit a rust blue finish, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Serial number is matching on the frame, locking bolt, trigger, sideplate, barrel, and rear toggle link, which are numbered in the commercial fashion. Other components are un-serialized. Bluing appears to be an old refinish, likely applied at the time of rework. Complete with an unmarked brown leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of their arsenal reapplied rust blue finish, exhibiting some small areas of wear with a few areas of pitting beneath the finish. Grip straps show heavier thinning, which shows through to a mixture of grey and brown patinas. Strawed components retain fair amounts of their finish, exhibiting wear and thinning. Bore is bright, showing oxidation and retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Checkered wood grips show some smoothing to the diamonds and a few handling marks. Holster no longer retains belt loops or pull strap, and bears some light handling marks. -MLW-
