Manufactured after the Great War for commercial sales within and outside of Germany, this 1920 Commercial Luger is marked with the "DWM" monogram on the toggle, with crown over "N" nitro commercial proofs visible on the receiver, barrel, and breechblock. "GERMANY" stamped on the left side of the receiver. Major metal components are blued, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Frame, locking bolt, trigger, sideplate, barrel, receiver, and rear toggle link are all matching and are numbered in the commercial fashion. Other components including the grips and magazine are unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of what appears to be period reapplied rust blue finish, exhibiting a few minor areas of wear and a few areas showing what looks like chemical losses to the finish. Strawed components retain some of their finish and show wear overall. There is a small dent on the left side of the frame below the safety bar, which does not appear to affect operation. Bore is bright, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves as well as light oxidation throughout. Grips show some smoothing and a few nicks but are otherwise fine. A nice example of a post-war 1920 Commercial Luger. -MLW-
