Manufactured in 1939 at the Mauser Oberndorf factory, this Luger is marked "1939" over the chamber with Mauser Oberndorf crown over "U" proofs that are visible on the receiver, breechblock, and front of the sight base. This example has been entirely refinished, exhibiting a mixture of blue finishes with strawed components having been nicely restrawed. All components are matching, but appear to be force matched. Checkered walnut grips and magazine are unmarked. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finishes, exhibiting little wear as well as some nicks and several areas of pitting beneath the finish. Mirror bore, with well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips exhibit some diamond point wear. -MLW-
