Chicago Firearms Co. Protector palm pistol. Made late 1890s. Left side of the frame is marked "CHICAGO FIRE ARMS CO./CHICAGO,ILL" in a disk, while the right side is marked "THE PROTECTOR/PAT. MCH.6.83.AUG.29.93.". Matching serials on the internal components. Hard rubber grip pad on both the left and right hand side, in addition to the backstrap. Original nickel finish on the frame and barrel. CONDITION: Metal retains 50% of its original finish with some areas of patina and wear on the frame. Grips are very good with some light deterioration on the right panel. Clean bore with sharp rifling left. Mechanically in operable as the hammer and firing pin assembly has broken off. JWA
